THE BEAT GOES ON AT OLEAN GENERAL HOSPITAL
Nearly 600 employees, physicians, volunteers, Emergency Medical Services personnel, and community partners gathered to form another giant “living” heart on the front lawn of Olean General Hospital (OGH) September 17.
“In 2013, as part of our celebration of accreditation of the hospital’s Chest Pain Center and the launch of OGH’s interventional cardiac catheterization program in partnership with Kaleida Health we formed a living people art picture. We’re doing it again in 2014 and calling it “The Beat Goes On” in order to celebrate the success of our Heart Program that is truly saving lives,” said Karen Fohl, Vice President of Institutional Advancement. “We are delighted and indebted for the services donated again this year by Mark and Kristina Fries of Fries Tree Service who provided the bucket truck for the photograph as well as for Mike Hendryx who provided DJ services throughout the entire event,” she added.

Sleep Disorders Center Moves to New Location
OCTOBER 2014 - INSIDE OGH
The Sleep Disorders Center at Olean General Hospital, a member of Upper Allegheny Health System, opened its newest location, 500 Main Street, on Monday, June 2. The new center is conveniently located on the first floor of OGH’s Mildred Milliman Outpatient Surgery Center building, directly across Main Street from the hospital.
The center, which is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, will enable Olean General Hospital to provide an improved patient care experience for the diagnosis of Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, Restless Leg Syndrome and other sleep disorders.
The new location provides improved patient privacy and a quieter sleeping environment for sleep studies. Ease of access from the parking lot and having the center on the first floor only a few short steps from the front door offers greater convenience. The Sleep Disorders Center was previously located on the third floor of the Hampton Inn, Olean. For the Complete Story - Click Here.
The ALS Association has topped $100 million in donations from people all over the globe who were moved to action by this summer’s Ice Bucket Challenge. As of August 29, the Association has received $100.9 million in donations compared to $2.8 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 29).
The ALS Association’s mission includes providing care services to assist people with ALS and their families through a network of chapters working in communities across the nation and a global research program focused on the discovery of treatments and eventually a cure for the disease. In addition, The Association’s advocacy efforts empower people to advance public policies in our nation’s Capital that respond to the needs of people with ALS.
