Olean General Hospital has been named a recipient of a 2010 Enterprising Business award given by Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce. The award honors those businesses that exemplify the enterprising spirit of community and commercial growth in the greater Olean community and was presented at the GOACC 105th Annual Dinner scheduled November 4, at Premier Banquet Center.
The Enterprising Business Award is the highest distinction for a business given by the Chamber's 70-plus members. The Award is given annually to a business in the greater Olean area that demonstrates a well-planned, thorough and serious approach to business development and exemplifies the unique “hometown” charm of the area in manners of administration, customer service and quality of product.
As a comprehensive 186-bed, acute care, non-profit hospital, OGH is supported by over 900 employees and a medical staff of approximately 175 physicians. The hospital serves the health care needs of over 110,000 people throughout its service area in the community by offering a wide range of programs and services. With the development of the Upper Allegheny Health System last year, the new parent company of Olean General Hospital and Bradford Regional Medical Center, both hospitals are better positioned to respond to the challenges of today’s health care environment by driving quality improvement and leveraging clinical and operational best practices thereby to the overall quality of patient care.
